Dr. Orlicka is a gastroenterologist and educator specializing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. She completed her gastroenterology training at the University of Montreal and pursued subspecialty training in IBD at the University of Oxford, where she worked with Dr. Simon Travis, a world-renowned expert in the field. She also earned a certification in medical education from the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom, combining her clinical expertise with a deep commitment to advancing teaching and training in medicine.

Dr. Orlicka is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal and serves as director of the university’s IBD subspecialty training program. She also plays a leadership role in continuing professional development, having served as Director of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the Quebec Association of Gastroenterologists (AGEQ). In this capacity, she helped organize more than 20 provincial scientific conferences, strengthening the professional education of gastroenterologists across Quebec.

A respected academic leader, Dr. Orlicka has served on the gastroenterology training program committee at the University of Montreal and as a pedagogical leader at the Centre for Applied Health Sciences Education at both the university and Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). Her contributions to medical education and professional development have had a lasting impact on the training of physicians and the advancement of IBD care in Quebec. Through her combined roles as clinician, educator and mentor, Dr. Orlicka continues to shape the next generation of gastroenterology specialists.
